Before your India trip…
If you’re planning a trip to India using a travel agent or even just your satelliteinternetbroadband.com connection you’ll want to plan ahead. Here are some must-dos before you get on that plane to check out the land of the Tamils.
Get Your Shots: India is known for some pretty gnarly diseases and insect-borne viruses so get whatever inoculations you need before you ship out. Ask your doctor to prescribe you something for intestinal discomfort, too that you can carry with you in case of the inevitable.
Get Your Visa: India requires one of the longest visa lead times of any country you’d want to travel to – get a head start. You may have to contact the Indian embassy in Washington DC so give yourself at least 5 months before your trip to get your paperwork ready.
Get a Guide: If you plan on visiting the land of the Tamils you’ll need a guide to get you there. It’s not a place many outsiders come so you’ll want a local who knows how to respect and honor the group – ask your hotel or travel agent.
